John Cavill brings over 15 years of experience in commercial technology and software licensing. Having worked across the UK and international markets, John recognised early on the growing dependency businesses were placing on third-party software solutions — and the risks this introduced if vendors failed or key source code was lost.

Prior to founding Duchesspark Holdings, John advised technology providers on intellectual property strategy and contract structuring. His deep understanding of source code licensing, escrow law, and operational continuity led him to co-develop a service that protects both licensors and licensees with clarity and legal enforceability.

John leads the technical oversight of the business, with a strong focus on platform automation, verification standards, and service resilience.
Nigel Middleton
Co-Founder & Director
Nigel Middleton brings a financial and regulatory background to the company, with more than two decades of experience in structured finance and client fund management. Having held senior roles in both corporate finance and regulated entities, Nigel witnessed first-hand the complexity and risk of handling client monies — especially where project funding, acquisitions or asset protection were involved.

Seeing a gap in the market for professional, well-governed escrow and holding facilities, Nigel partnered with John Cavill to form Duchesspark Holdings Limited. His focus has been on designing financial holding structures that integrate seamlessly with legal and commercial frameworks — while partnering with regulated institutions to offer FSCS-backed fund protection.
